The Mon Valley YMCA is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. Christian in its heritage, it is ecumenical in its delivery of services and its membership.
The YMCA assists people in learning skills and attitudes that will enrich their lives, help them grow and develop, lead them to interracial and intergenerational understanding and to realize their full potential as members of this community. The YMCA emphasizes development of the whole person as embodied in the YMCA symbol, the triangle, which signifies the union of body, mind and spirit. At the Y, strengthening community is their cause. Every day, the Y works side by side with its neighbors to ensure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.
Diversity & Inclusion
The Y is made up of people of all ages and from every walk of life working side by side to strengthen communities. Together, we work to ensure that everyone, regardless of ability, age, cultural background, ethnicity, faith, gender, gender identity, ideology, income, national origin, race or sexual orientation has the opportunity to reach their full potential with dignity. Our core values are caring, honesty, respect and responsibility- they guide everything we do.
