Y member Dennis Laskey played in the Pennsylvania West Soccer League for more than four decades. A four-year starting defender at Alderson-Broaddus, where he earned his Associates Degree, Laskey earned honorable mention from the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC).
Following his time at Alderson-Broaddus, Laskey joined the U.S. Navy in 1972 and continued his playing career throughout Europe for the U.S. Navy Phiblant team stationed in the Mediterranean. Dennis finished his Masters Degree in Sports Management at Cal U after his tour of duty. He then entered the coaching ranks as head coach at Charleroi High School from 1978-83 and served as the co-founder and first president of the Mon Valley Youth Soccer Association.
Laskey’s soccer career didn’t end there as he went on to be a member of the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) National Championship team in 2005. In 2007, Dennis was inducted into the Mid-Mon Valley Sports Hall of Fame. Laskey’s most recent accolade was winning the
USASA ADULT Soccer Fest Lancaster, MA 2019 Champions.
At 68, Dennis Laskey continues to be an inspiration as he continues to flourishes in his soccer career.
