BIG CAMP 2010
1. MISSISSIPPI MISCHIEF- JUNE
14-18
Nothing is more fun than hanging out on
the banks of the Mississippi. Lets build a forte in the woods.
We'll have some crazy old-fashioned fun with watermelon seed spitting,
sack races, poison ivy and frog jumping contests. A scavenger hunt
will help us to make our natural pet pal and see how well we know the
woods. Make homemade paper and a bowl out of clay. We'll end
the week with a little campfire treat!

2. ALIEN INVASION- JUNE 21-25
Every few
years, some really strange visitors from outer-space drop by. They
are really getting sneaky because they seem to look more and more like
the counselors. Help Miss Barb figure out which counselors are
aliens and build a transporter to travel to other planets. Save a
spaceman, escape asteroids and have a moon rock relay. Take home
your own robot and glow in the dark pillow case. |
|
3. HOME OF THE BRAVE-JUNE28-JULY 2
Be proud to be Americans. This is
your chance to see what you've got. Games and challenges will
teach you the importance of team work. How about a little army
dodge ball, a flag relay or survival food challenge? We'll
take a picture of your platoon for your patriotic frames. Learn
about how the wind effects paratroopers, rocket balloons and wind socks.
In the end, everything will be ducky sir! |
|
4. A KNIGHT'S TALE- JULY 12-16
This is your chance to star in a true camp comedy.
As in years past, this camp uses the talents of all the campers to write
scripts, make props, costumes and even star in their own movie.
This year's movie will be the heroic fight between the White Knight and
the evil Black Knight. What obstacles will the knights have to
overcome? Maybe a dragon, a toll bridge or some swamps.
Everyone will participate in our knight's tournament on Friday.
Lights, Camera, Action! |
|
5. MONSTER MAYHEM- JULY 19- 23
Sometimes
camp can be a scary place but a lot of fun too. This is the camp
where the monsters and counselors get a little mixed up. Maybe
it's those strange things they have been eating. Do you want to
try some? Take home a "monster keep out" sign and a "monster
beware" keychain for your book bag. Oh no! The campers are
looking a little gruesome in their zombie makeup. We'll hunt rats
and snakes. Maybe Dracula is hiding a snack in the basement for
later. |
|
6. LOST ISLAND TREASURE- JULY 26-30
Everyone loves a good treasure hunt. But this is
going to be a challenge. First you must join a group of pirates,
come up with a catchy chant and cross the sea. We'll make mosaic
hands, a sunglass case and a pillow. Test your skills with games
like spongeball, filler-up and the floating bulls-eye. Winners
will share in the pirates treasure. The losers may have to walk
the plank! Either way, you're getting wet. |
|
7. DOUBLE DARE II- AUGUST 2-6
Back by popular demand, this is the camp you all have
been waiting for. time to get slimy, dirty and full of jello.
For fun, we can make a fuseboard, sand bottles and grouted pots.
Take home your own little challenge, a marble house. Who can
put on a frozen t-shirt the fastest or pass the most water in a sponge?
Friday will be your chance to cheer on the counselors in a Double Dare
competition designed by YOU! How about a little pie throwing or
pancake catching? this is bound to be one of the funniest
weeks of camp!
